Windows Storage Is Full or C: Drive Keeps Filling Up
Check Storage settings
Navigate to:
Settings > System > Storage
Windows will display which categories are using the most space.
Remove temporary files
Select Temporary files and review items Windows considers safe to remove.
Always check the list before deleting files.
Empty the Recycle Bin
Deleted files continue using storage until the Recycle Bin is emptied.
Remove unused applications
Navigate to:
Settings > Apps > Installed apps
Sort applications by size and remove programs you no longer use.
Check Downloads
The Downloads folder frequently contains installers, archives, videos, and other large files.
Enable Storage Sense
Storage Sense can automatically clean certain temporary files over time.
Avoid third-party "PC cleaner" utilities that aggressively delete system files or registry entries.
