If you want to fully reset your network settings, this is one of the easiest ways to do it.

This is especially useful if you want to revert EXM Tweaks network optimizations, fix internet-related issues, or return your network configuration back to Windows default behavior.

Before You Begin

Resetting your network adapters will remove and reinstall your network components automatically.

This means Windows will reset things like:

  • Wi-Fi adapters

  • Ethernet adapters

  • Saved network configuration

  • Custom network settings

After doing this, your PC will restart automatically.

You may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi afterward and re-enter your password.

When You Should Use This

A network adapter reset is a good option if:

  • You want to revert our network optimizations

  • Your internet feels unstable after changing network settings

  • You are having issues connecting to websites, games, or services

  • Your adapter is showing errors or not behaving normally

  • You want to return your networking stack closer to default Windows behavior

How to Reset Network Adapters

Steps

  1. Open Start

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select Network & Internet

  4. Scroll down and select Advanced network settings

  5. Find and open Network reset

  6. Click Reset now

  7. Confirm the reset

Windows will then begin removing and reinstalling your network adapters.

Your system should restart automatically within a few minutes.

After the Restart

Once your PC boots back up:

  • Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network if needed

  • Re-enter your Wi-Fi password

  • Test your internet connection

  • Check whether the issue has been resolved

If you were trying to revert EXM Tweaks network optimizations, this is one of the best first steps to take.

Important Notes

A network reset can help with:

  • Broken internet connectivity

  • Adapter-related errors

  • DNS or configuration issues

  • Reverting custom network changes

  • Restoring more default Windows network behavior

Keep in mind that this does not uninstall your internet driver package from your system permanently, but it does reset your network configuration and reinstall the adapters through Windows.

If your connection still does not work after this, you may need to manually reinstall your motherboard, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet drivers from your device manufacturer’s website.
