Keyboard or Mouse Is Not Working in Windows

Reconnect the device

Unplug the keyboard or mouse and reconnect it.

Try another USB port if possible.

Restart Windows

A restart can reload USB and HID drivers.

Check Device Manager

Look under:

  • Keyboards

  • Mice and other pointing devices

  • Human Interface Devices

Check for warning icons.

Test another device

Connect another keyboard or mouse.

If the replacement works normally, the original device may have a hardware problem.

For wireless devices

Check:

  • Battery level

  • USB receiver

  • Bluetooth connection

  • Pairing status

Install manufacturer software

Gaming peripherals may require software from manufacturers such as Logitech, Razer, Corsair, SteelSeries, or others.

Download software only from the manufacturer's official website.
