Windows Activation Failed or Windows Is Not Activated
Check activation status
Navigate to:
Settings > System > Activation
Windows will display your current activation status and any available error information.
Run Activation Troubleshooter
If available, select Troubleshoot from the Activation page.
Verify your edition
A Windows Home license will not activate Windows Pro and vice versa.
Confirm that your installed edition matches your license.
Sign into your Microsoft account
Digital Windows licenses can be associated with a Microsoft account.
Signing into the account associated with the license may help after hardware changes.
Recently changed hardware?
Major hardware replacements, especially motherboard changes, can affect activation.
Use the Windows Activation Troubleshooter and select the option indicating that hardware was recently changed if available.
Only purchase Windows licenses from Microsoft or reputable authorized sellers.
